How Do We Track Progress?

Assessment is a critical factor in Play2Talk and is an ongoing process. We use the following assessments in each key area of development and review these monthly through ongoing data collection, observation and parental feedback.

Communication and Language:

  • Play2Talk Developmental Language Programme
  • Browns Scales (MLU)
  • Derbyshire Language Programme (Receptive Skills- Listening and Attention)

Physical Development:

  • Blue Sky Motor Skills Assessment (based on the Bailey’s Scales- developmental assessment)
  • Sensory Preferences Profile (completed with parent/ caregiver)

PSED:

  • MCHAT or CARS for children with red flags for ASD
  • ECBQ Short Form

Literacy, Maths, UofW and EAD

  • EYFS developmental goal tracker in each area.

Target Setting

All children joining our nursery attend an assessment which gives our team the information needed for a detailed baseline of all their current skills and strengths. An individual programme of targets is then created and monitored in each session through data collection. All data is collated at the end of each week by our therapy team and shared with parents.
